Stalking & Cyberstalking is done by a small subset of people; it happens in romantic, 'love' relationships, & we know each of us is different, so one of the two people may have an obsession & compulsion, may think 'love' is 2-way when it's not, may stalk or cyberstalk.  Other features may include making many phone calls, 'hang up' calls, texts, emails, computer hacking, installing hidden surveillance cameras, secret videos, audios; we all know the cell phone is very commonly a part.

Emotions in a person who stalks may include jealousy, so example, being very angry that your ex- is with someone else. The ex- may be enraged seeing that you are happier.  I plan to write more on this subject at another time.

Alcohol and other Drug use, abuse, & addiction (including Active Alcoholism) occur in a subset of people. Genetics plays a big role, but there are many other circumstances & events that may be a part of a person's active addiction, for example, teen or adult may be in close contact with active addicts, such as family, friends.  I plan to write more on this subject.  I support healthy 12 Step groups.

​Narcissism is said to be present in the personalities of a subset of people. A Narcissist is thinking about themselves, their feelings, their wants, their desires. A Narcissist sees themselves as very, very special. Narcissists tend not to care about the feelings and rights of other people. The Narcissist will love you, but can flip on a dime and hate you.

A subset of Narcissists are Sociopaths.
Sociopaths are a small subset of people. The Sociopath is not thinking about feelings and rights of other people. The Sociopath may lie, cheat, steal. The Sociopath does not have a 'conscience'. The term Psychopath is sometimes used.

  • Restraining Order, Protective Order
  • Order for Protection, seek an emergency OFP, Ex Parte OFP, OFP hearing, OFP trial, dismiss OFP, false accusations, false allegations, misunderstanding, exaggeration, 'heat of the moment', anger, lying to the police, lying in written statement or under oath, worry of perjury. Need to change your statement to police, retract your statement

Legal question: My BF is locked in jail, Interference With Emergency Communication. He did nothing at all!
Attorney Tricia Dwyer's answer: There will be written documents that describe what happened, and most often there will be audio and video. There may be one or more witnesses. For this problem, I urge your BF have good lawyer help, asap. In my work, I may privately confer with the person in jail, asap, and their family or friend arranges with me for that to happen.
